Liquid Vitamins or not Liquid Vitamins? That is the Question.

 

We can do everything in our power to eat the right food to have a healthy body. However because of the way food is grown and processed today there is no way we can get the proper amount of vitamins, minerals, and nutrients we should have from food alone. Even the American Medical Association recommends we take a multiple vitamin daily. There is no doubt that we need to supplement our food to get proper nutrition. That is just a fact. What we take and how we take it is another question.


You will here from so many sources that this vitamin, juice, supplement Magic potion, or whatever is the best. The fact is there are many products that are very good and with so many to choose from. Why are there so many fat Americans?  We have all the advantages here to eat right and exercise, or do we?  Not really, most of us work too much and have too many things to do to stick to a regular schedule.  Going to the gym after a grueling day is not something we look forward to. How to increase or speed up your metabolism

We hear a lot about the metabolism and some of us can eat anything and not gain a pound because we have a good metabolism. However most of us are not that lucky and we gain weight because our metabolism has slowed down and at the end of the day we took in more calories than we burned. That is kind of a simple way of looking at it.

The metabolism is a big fan of muscle. Muscular people tend to have metabolisms that will burn more calories. It is really kind of a simple fact that many of us don’t know or at least don’t use to loose weight. Many exorcises programs are running, walking and some type of aerobics. These are good for your heart and if you do enough will help you lose weight. You will burn calories when we do these types of exercises and this is good. However we are also loosing muscle and when you loose muscle you slow down the metabolism. Not a good thing for loosing weight. We burn more calories with our Basal Metabolism, about 60 to 80 percent; this is the cool metabolism that burns calories all day and all night. However it works best when we have muscle.

Let’s take two people, one dose the typical running, bilking, aerobics, walking or what ever and the other starts strength training. Now they both go to the gym and workout for 30 minutes 5 days a week. When they finish there exercises the guy that dose the aerobics type of exercise burns a lot more calories then the other guy that dose the strength training. But here is where is get interesting. We know that the increased metabolic effect after aerobics lasted about 30 to 60 minutes. However the metabolic effect from the strength training lasts about 48 hours. What that means, is your Basal Metabolism is burning more calories long term from the strength training.

What is your goal? Do you want to lose weight, strength your body and have a good figure? Or do you want to look good running on the treadmill longer and longer times?
Most people that try to lose weight running, aerobics and the like, give up. It seems the harder they work they harder it gets to stop eating. When you do that type of exercise you burn muscle as well as calories and your body screams for more protein and nutrition. You become hungry all the time and that makes it harder to stick to the diet.

Don’t misunderstand that aerobics, running and this type of exercise is wrong or not good for you. Obviously it burns calories and is great for the cardiovascular system, lowering cholesterol and more. It just is not the best way to lose weight and build a healthy body. Combine the two and you’ll be fine. However, if the goal is to lose weight, strength training is the way to go, and the bonus is a strong body. For every pound of muscle your body burns about 50 calories, so the more muscle, the easer it will be to lose fat. Add 5 pounds of muscle and lose 250 calories doing nothing.

Another thing about strength training is you don’t need to go to a gym or have any equipment. Remember that body that’s over weight? Lift it. Do push-ups for your upper body. Do what you can, even if it is only one at a time, just keep doing them for about 15 min. Then stand up straight bend over and touch your toes for as many times as you can this will help to strengthen you back. Stand up and squat down, do this for your legs as many times as you can. Lay flat on your back the and hold your legs up about 8 inches off the ground and hold for as long as you can and that will strengthen you stomach. Sit-up can help too but these have to be done so that you don’t hurt you back or tail bone so use caution and if you are not sure how to do them right, its better to do the leg lifts. If you can get some weights they help build the body faster but again you need to read up on what to start out with usually a barbell that will range from 20 to 150 lbs and some hand weights about 10 or 15 lbs each. You can usually find a set from $80.00 to $120.00 dollars. You can spend a lot more for quality but I would start out cheap unless you really know your going to stay with it. Like anything today we have to tell you to check with your doctor before you do any form of exercise. So if you don’t have a doctor you just have to stay fat and hide under your bed.

A little sarcasm here and you should check with your doctor. I just get a little upset with the medical community that will recommend drugs that could kill you or have so many side effects that you end up taking more drugs because of the side effects from the first drug. Every year they misdiagnose thousands of patients and yet we have to ask them before we do something healthy. The real statement should be “ask a good doctor”. Then if you not sure “ask another good doctor”. Then “ask the doctor if he knows a good doctor”. You might just lose some weight running around to all the doctors you have to talk to.

All kidding aside it is very important to know what you are doing when it comes to your health. A good doctor can help you with that and I’m sure you have a good doctor. Just remember M.D. stands for Medical Doctor, actually comes form Latin Medicine Doctor meaning “Teacher of Medicine”. Not Medical Deity, these are men and women and capable of mistakes, so when it comes to you and your health use caution if your not sure about something get a second or even a third opinion. The Easy Way to Stay Healthy

Think of yourself as the person that should know all about your health, your health and your health.
